    Challenging sloped back yard

I've only been using the lawn plan for 2 years now but already I can see a big improvement in the health of my yard! Growing new grass still remains a challenge due to the shade, poor compacted soil and the dog potty spots and now the hot rainy weather. I'll try again in fall!

    Lawn Improvement

My lawn looks good so far this year. Just some bad patches in the back (which only I see!). There is improvement from last year. Not too many weeds this year. Any time I have asked for help, I've gotten a rapid response (within a day). Even identification of some weeds. Please keep up the good work!

      Burlington, North Carolina FAQs

The average cost of professional lawn care services in Burlington, NC ranges from $45-75 per visit for a standard quarter-acre lawn. Sunday's custom lawn plans start at $55 per season and include fertilizer, soil testing, and expert support - making it a more affordable alternative to traditional services.

When choosing lawn care in Burlington, NC, consider these key factors:

      1. Evaluate your lawn needs: size, current condition, and specific issues like weeds or bare spots
      2. Compare service options and pricing between DIY and professional services
      3. Check if providers offer customized plans based on your climate and soil
      4. Verify their use of sustainable practices that protect people, pets and the environment
      5. Ensure they provide ongoing support and expertise

Remember that climate-specific care is essential, as Burlington's transition zone location means your lawn faces both cool and warm-season challenges.

Lawn care focuses on nurturing your grass through fertilization, weed control, and soil health in Burlington. Lawn maintenance covers routine tasks like mowing, edging, and cleanup. While maintenance keeps your yard tidy, proper lawn care helps develop stronger roots and healthier grass that can better withstand heat and drought.

Professional lawn care services in Burlington typically cost $45-75 per visit, with annual contracts ranging from $700-1200. Sunday's custom lawn plans start at $55 per season and include fertilizer, soil testing, and expert support - offering significant savings compared to traditional services.

The 1/3 rule states you should never cut off more than one-third of the grass blade length in a single mowing. This maintains grass health by preventing shock and stress to the plant. For example, if your grass is 3 inches tall, don't cut off more than 1 inch.

People in Burlington invest in lawn care to maintain healthy grass that can withstand the region's challenging transition zone climate, which experiences both hot summers and cold winters. A well-maintained lawn increases property value, prevents soil erosion, and creates an enjoyable outdoor space while requiring less time and effort than DIY care.

For May lawn care in Burlington, NC:

      1. Mow grass 2.5-3 inches high when dry
      2. Apply fertilizer early in month before temperatures rise
      3. Spot treat emerging weeds
      4. Water deeply 1-2 times per week, about 1 inch total
      5. Monitor for signs of fungal disease as humidity increases

Avoid fertilizing during high heat periods later in month. Always water in early morning to prevent fungal issues.

Seeding is the most cost-effective method to establish a lawn in Burlington, NC. For a typical quarter-acre lot, grass seed costs $100-200, while sod installation runs $2,000-4,000. However, seeding requires more time and careful maintenance during establishment to achieve full coverage.
