Both, and your actual soil wins. Before your first box ships, we build your plan using satellite imagery of your property, your local climate, and soil data pulled from yards all over the country. Your plan is already tuned to what your lawn actually needs before you dig a single plug.

Then we go deeper. Your first box includes a free soil test kit. Collect a few samples, drop them in the mail, and in 2 to 3 weeks we know exactly what's happening underground at your address. The pH, what's missing, what you've got too much of. If your plan needs adjusting, it gets adjusted. Most lawn care starts and ends at the bag. We think that's a pretty low bar.

We look it up. During signup, we pull a satellite view of your address and estimate your treatable square footage. Before you buy anything, you can see our estimate of your lawn size and adjust it up or down. If the satellite measurement is over- or underestimated, you can adjust it early in the process. The number you confirm determines how much product you get.

Why we show it to you first: The satellite estimate is a starting point. You make it accurate. No tape measure required.

Sunday asks about your grass type, lawn history, whether you've got bare patches, dogs, or a high level of weeds, and what you actually want out of your yard this season. The entire quiz takes about 3-5 minutes, and each response helps to further customize your plan.

If your situation changes: new dog, idea for a fresh flower bed, or you just need a little more seed come fall, you can add products to your next box before it ships.

Your neighbor's lawn looking good with Scotts makes sense. Those products work for a lot of lawns.

Where Sunday is different is that it's tailored to your lawn. Instead of a one-size-fits-all formula, it takes into account your total soil health, so you're not adding more of something that's already high (or missing what's needed).

Another differentiator is what we don't include. Sunday skips phosphorus unless your lawn needs it, avoiding excess runoff into waterways. Sunday also skips conventional pesticides and harsh chemicals in all of our products, so you don't need to worry about your kids and pets rolling around in your yard.

Yes, and we've seen worse. Sunday works best when there's something actively growing, even thin, weedy, struggling grass. That's a starting point, not a dealbreaker.

The honest preview: weeds and bare spots are two different problems that need two different things. Nutrients alone won't clear weeds or fill patches. For weeds, you'll want to add weed control to your plan. For bare spots, you'll want seed. Neither is complicated, and we'll help you figure out exactly what applies to your yard.

Greener color shows up within 2 to 4 weeks of your first application during the active growing season. That part's real, and you'll notice it. But Sunday isn't built around a big nitrogen hit that makes things pop for a few weeks and then needs another hit to keep going. We're building the soil, which takes longer and matters more.

Think of it less like a paint job and more like physical therapy. One season gets you meaningfully further. Two seasons gets you the lawn your neighbors start asking about. After a few years, people tell us it's the easiest their yard has ever been to maintain. Turns out healthy soil does most of the work for you.

Your Sunday box is basically a "here's everything, you've got this" in physical form. Here's what’s inside: your custom nutrients, formulas we built specifically for your yard, your free soil test kit to further customize your plan, your applicator tools, and your Sunday welcome guide. Inside your box, you’ll also find QR codes to your digital onboarding and a checklist that tells you what order to put down products and when.

Grass seed isn't included in the base plan, but you can upgrade your plan before purchase or add it before your next shipment.

You can cancel anytime. No phone call, no talking to a retention specialist. Log in to your account, go to Orders & Subscriptions, click 'Manage plan', then scroll down to cancel. Remaining unprocessed shipments for the current season are refunded, and no shipments will be made after that.

Worth knowing upfront: Sunday renews annually, not monthly. The renewal happens between January and April, and you'll get an email before it does. In your account, you can also skip shipments or add products to your next box. If you need to adjust your lawn size or switch from liquid to granular, our Customer Support team is happy to help.
