Is Sunday fertilizer safe for well water homes
Yes. Sunday fertilizers are designed to work well with well water systems. Both our liquid and granular products use slow-release nitrogen and skip phosphorus entirely, which means they're far less likely to leach into your water supply than traditional fertilizers.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Stick to the recommended rates. Over applying is the fastest way to create runoff. Follow the rates on the label and our Lawn Fertilizer instructions.
2. Skip it if rain is coming. If rain is in the forecast within 24 hours, hold off. Rain right after application washes fertilizer away before it has time to absorb into your soil. For more on timing, check out Sunday product application and rain.
3. Keep a buffer. Leave 10 to 15 ft. between any area you fertilize and your well or nearby waterways. This goes for both liquid and granular.
