    My front yard is on

My front yard is on its second year with Sunday and it's looking better than ever. Our back yard is brand new grass. We are working to get it to fill in and hoping Sunday will help over the next few years. The only thing I miss is a weed control that I can spray the entire lawn with to kill weeds and leave the grass.

When choosing lawn care in Chesapeake, consider these key factors: your lawn size, specific needs (like weed control or seeding), and budget. Look for services that understand the region's warm-season grasses and humid climate. Consider DIY options with expert guidance versus full-service providers based on your time and comfort level with lawn maintenance.

The 1/3 rule states you should never cut off more than one-third of the grass blade length in a single mowing. This prevents stress on the grass and promotes healthier growth. For example, if your grass is 3 inches tall, don't cut off more than 1 inch.

Professional lawn care services in Chesapeake typically cost $125-200 per treatment. Sunday's custom lawn plans offer a more budget-friendly option starting at $55, with multiple shipments throughout the growing season. Plans include fertilizer, soil testing, and expert support, with options to add weed control and seeding.

Lawn care refers to specific maintenance tasks like fertilizing, weed control, and seeding that can be done yourself or by professionals. Lawn service typically includes regular mowing, trimming, and cleanup performed by professionals on a recurring schedule.

People in Chesapeake pay for lawn care to maintain healthy grass in the region's challenging climate of hot, humid summers and mild winters. Professional care helps manage common issues like weeds, pests, and diseases while saving time and ensuring proper fertilization and maintenance for popular warm-season grasses like Bermuda and Zoysia.

Here are key steps to find a quality lawn service in Chesapeake:

      1. Get multiple quotes and compare services offered
      2. Check reviews and ask neighbors for recommendations
      3. Verify proper licensing and insurance
      4. Ask about their experience with warm-season grasses common in Chesapeake
      5. Review their fertilization and maintenance approach

Consider Sunday's custom lawn plans as an affordable alternative that provides expert guidance and products tailored to your specific lawn needs.

For Chesapeake's climate, warm-season grasses like Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass work best. They thrive in hot summers and tolerate the region's humidity. For shaded areas, St. Augustine grass is a good choice. These grasses stay green during peak growing season and go dormant in winter.
