    Great Results in Maine

Sunday has been a really great way to take care of our lawn this past year. Ordering the product was easy. This lawn was completely re-seeded with 70-yards of fresh loam in 2021. It didn't look great at the end of last year. Sunday helped it fill in and defy a nasty drought this past summer with no watering. While other peoples lawns were turning brown, our yard was holding on and I think Sunday had a lot to do with it. I'm really pleased with the approach of the products, the ease of use and the results.

Our lawn never looked so good!

A work acquaintance recommended Get Sunday to us. We stopped treating our lawn several years ago. It was expensive, we didn't like using all the chemicals and we were not seeing the best result. Last year was a hard year for lawns in Maine and ours was no exception. After only one treatment, the lawn looks better than it ever has. We were honestly (pleasantly) surprised at the transformation.

    Working towards a greener lawn

The plan is easy to follow, the products are easy to apply, and I like feeling like I'm doing something good for my lawn. The nutrients are easy to understand. I've yet to see the results, but it's early in the program for me. Weeds are hard to combat with organic gardening! The website is easy to navigate, and I like the new checklist component. I'm excited to see the work pay off in the end.

    Happy with Sunday

I'm in the middle of my second summer using Sunday on my lawn. I'm happy with how using the products and following the plan has boosted the health of my lawn. A couple years ago the grass was not very healthy looking and wasn't very full or dense either. The only thing I'm trying to improve still is my lawn's resiliency - particularly related to my dogs when they pee on it. Overall I'm happy with the benefits of subscribing to a Sunday program.

      South Portland, Maine FAQs

In South Portland, mow when your grass reaches 3-4 inches tall, typically every 5-7 days during spring and fall growth periods. Summer heat often slows growth, reducing mowing to every 7-10 days. Always follow the 1/3 rule: never cut more than one-third of the grass blade at once. Keep your mowing height higher (2.5-3.5 inches) during summer to help your lawn withstand stress from heat.

South Portland's climate calls for cool-season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescue, or tall fescue. Plan for seasonal care with spring cleanup and feeding, summer water management (1-1.5 inches per week), fall feeding and seeding, and winter preparation. Watch for quick weather shifts that can affect your lawn's needs. Sunday's custom plans account for your local climate, delivering nutrients when your lawn actually needs them.

A good South Portland lawn routine includes spring feeding with a high-iron fertilizer like Sunday's Lawn Kickstart, maintaining 3-3.5 inch mowing height, watering deeply 1-2 times weekly (morning is best), fall seeding with cool-season grass, and addressing weeds promptly. Test your soil to understand nutrient needs. Sunday's custom plans take the guesswork out by providing seasonally appropriate nutrients and advice tailored to your yard.

To boost your South Portland lawn's health: feed regularly with Sunday's climate-appropriate nutrients, mow at proper heights (taller in summer), water deeply but less often (1-1.5 inches weekly), overseed in fall with quality cool-season seed, address bare spots promptly, and test your soil to understand specific needs. Sunday's soil test kit helps identify exactly what your lawn needs for optimal health in Maine's unique growing conditions.

Common South Portland lawn issues include snow mold (after winter), red thread disease (in cool, moist conditions), grub damage, dollar spot, clover and dandelion invasions, thin patches from shade or pet spots, and drought stress during summer dry spells. Sunday's lawn care plans help prevent these problems with proper nutrition, while their weed control products target specific issues without harsh chemicals.
