When to apply Dandelion Doom Concentrate

Apply spring through fall when weeds are actively growing and temps are between 50–85°F.

The sweet spots? Early spring (when weeds are small) and fall (to take out next year's problem before they settle in).

Sunday Tip:

Before spraying, remove flowering heads from weeds to protect pollinators. And hand-pull the big guys (aka anything over 5 inches tall deserves the manual treatment first).

What you'll need

  • Dandelion Doom concentrate bottle
  • Your reusable Sunday pouch and wand sprayer
  • Your garden hose

How to apply Dandelion Doom Concentrate

1

Mix Dandelion Doom

Pour in the whole bottle (yes, all of it). Fill the reusable pouch with one gallon of water. Attach the wand, and you're good to go.

Sunday Tip:

When mixed, you’ll have 1 gallon of product to apply.

2

Spray your weeds

Turn sprayer on and spray directly onto weeds, coating leaves, stems, and the top of roots completely. Flip off the sprayer switch in between weed treatments to save product (and avoid overspray).

Helpful tips:

  • This is a selective herbicide, meaning it controls broadleaf weeds without harming your grass.
  • It's not just for dandelions. It also controls moss, algae, lichens, and suppresses lawn diseases like dollar spot, rust, and snow mold.
  • Heads up: Iron can stain. Avoid fences, walkways, concrete, and other porous hardscape. Rinse any overspray quickly.

Let weeds absorb

Let weeds soak it in (iron needs a minute to do its thing). People and paws can return to the area once application is fully dry.

Continue to treat weeds as needed throughout the growing season. Reapply every 3–4 weeks for stubborn weeds.

Sunday Tip:

Patch newly weeded areas with grass seed or plugs after weeds are removed to prevent future weeds from moving in. Just wait 24 hours after applying Dandelion Doom to seed or plant into your lawn.

Dandelion Doom Concentrate FAQs

What is Dandelion Doom Concentrate?

Dandelion Doom is a selective, iron-based (FeHEDTA) weed killer that's safe to use on your lawn. It kills broadleaf weeds down to the root and gets results within hours. Bonus: it also controls moss, algae, and lichens, and suppresses lawn diseases including dollar spot, rust, and snow mold.

What weeds does Dandelion Doom Concentrate control?

It targets the most common broadleaf lawn weeds: dandelions, clover, chickweed, thistle, creeping charlie, and more. It also controls moss, algae, and lichens, and suppresses common lawn diseases including dollar spot, rust, and snow mold.

What's the dilution for Dandelion Doom? (or how to mix Dandelion Doom?)

Dump the whole bottle into your reusable Sunday pouch. Add one gallon of water. That's the recipe. We did the math so you don't have to. One bottle, one gallon, one mission: dandelion destruction.

Do I need to reapply Dandelion Doom Concentrate?

Weed control is a season-long game. You may need to reapply if you didn't fully coat the weeds, applied outside optimal temps, or it rained too soon after application.

How do I use weed control with other Sunday products?

Dandelion Doom plays well with other Sunday lawn products and custom plans. Just let it dry completely before applying fertilizer, watering, or doing anything else to the lawn.

For best results, use in combination with fertilizer and grass seed. You'll feed the lawn, reduce weeds, and fill in the gaps with better grass.

How and where do I store weed control?

Store upright with the cap closed tightly and the wand set to "off." Avoid extreme heat or freezing temps. If it sits for a while, give it a shake before your next use.
