Why use a spreader?

You can always spread dry products by the handful, but you’ll see more effective results with a spreader tool. A handheld, push, or drop spreader will provide uniform coverage, ensure the appropriate amount of product is used, and allow for faster application across your yard.

As a result, you’ll save time and energy applying Sunday products while spending money on only what you need.

What can I use a spreader for?

We love a multi-use spreader for all seasons that can easily apply grass seed and granular fertilizer during the growing season and ice melt in the winter months.

Bonus points if your spreader is:

  • lightweight
  • evenly distributes multiple sizes of seed or granular products
  • can be used for differently sized areas — from small areas to landscapes of 10,000+ square feet

Sunday product spreader guides

Looking for the right spreader setting for your favorite Sunday products? We've got you covered. Here are the recommended settings for applying grass seed, bare repair, seed + feed, granular fertilizer, and even ice melt with the most popular spreaders on the market.

Grass seed spreader settings

Our premium grass seed is compatible with any spreader on the market! No matter the spreader, we recommend starting on the lowest setting (usually 1!).

If the seed is getting stuck or not distributed uniformly, you may have to adjust to a higher setting. Level up until you get uniform flow and application.

Sunday Tip:

Walk at a consistent pace across the lawn to uniformly apply seed. If you see any missed or light coverage, reapply over areas to even out the application.

Seed + Feed spreader settings

Sunday’s Seed + Feed products are a great 2-in-1 option for applying both granular fertilizer and premium seed in one application. For best results, follow our spreader setting chart below.
