Ingredients

How to use
Apply before drought conditions hit, either early morning or late evening. Water your lawn before you start.
- Connect the sprayer to your garden hose and attach one pouch.
- Spray evenly across your lawn until the pouch is depleted, typically 10 to 15 minutes.
- One pouch covers 1,000 to 2,500 sq ft. Use two pouches for 2,500 to 5,000 sq ft.
- Water your lawn thoroughly after application.
- Reapply every 4 weeks from spring through fall, up to 8 times per year.

Drought Defense is a preventative product designed to help grass survive drought stress through better water distribution in soil. It's not meant to green up your lawn since it has no nitrogen (it's 0-0-1). For actually greening your lawn, you'd want something with more nitrogen like Grass Powerhouse, Green Machine, or Super S, which have higher nitrogen content for that vibrant green color. You could use Drought Defense alongside a greening fertilizer in late spring/early summer to prepare your grass for summer stress while building that color at the same time

Question: On my plan I have the lawn aid heat stress prevention treatment to be applied in the first couple of weeks of June. Can I add the Drought Defense product to use in August when we have almost zero rainfall and waves of heat up to 90/100? Or will it be too much?

That won't be too much! These pouches don't include any nitrogen, so we have a bit more flexibility with incorporating them relative to some of our other pouches. Lawn Aid from is best used to help encourage deep root growth/better heat resilience, and Drought Defense will help to improve water retention and Drought Defense will help with water retention and reduce water use. We generally recommend using these pouches every 4-6 weeks (if needed) during the summer months, so aiming for Lawn Aid in early June and then Drought Defense in early/mid July would be perfect.

Great question! Drought Defense is designed to be used in arid climates or regions currently experiencing periods of low rainfall, helping maintain a healthy, green lawn. Lawn Aid, on the other hand, is designed as a preventative before arid or low rainfall conditions exist.
