    Disaster to Getting There!

So far so good!! Recently downsized our home and yard. Unfortunately, the new construction home yard was neglected for months and weeds covered the entire area. I was determined to try Sunday and get our Bermuda lawn back from it's disappointing start. Fortunately, with a lot of weed spraying and following MY PLAN, the Bermuda is starting to grow and take over.

Easy system to use. I'm early in the process, but it seems to be working. Grass is getting fuller and greener. I'm looking forward to seeing the results by the end of summer.

    Convenient, natural, beautiful grass

Our lawn is so green and lush, and we love having a more natural option to put on it. We do have to spread a granular pre-emergent for weed control, but living in the South, that is just a necessity--our weeds would take over if we didn't. We love Sunday and tell everyone how easy it is!

      Birmingham, Alabama FAQs

The average cost of professional lawn care services in Birmingham ranges from $45-75 per visit for a standard quarter-acre lot. Sunday's custom lawn care plans start at $55 per season and include fertilizer, soil testing, and expert support - making it a more affordable option compared to traditional services.

When choosing lawn care in Birmingham, consider these key factors:

      1. Climate-appropriate timing: Schedule fertilizing and seeding around Birmingham's warm-season grass growing periods
      2. Heat tolerance: Select services that work with warm-season grasses like Bermuda and Zoysia common in Birmingham
      3. Service frequency: Plan for year-round maintenance due to Birmingham's long growing season
      4. Soil testing: Get soil analyzed to identify nutrient needs specific to Birmingham's clay-heavy soils
      5. Professional expertise: Look for providers who understand local conditions and offer customized treatment plans
      6. Cost and value: Compare service packages and pricing to find options within your budget

The 1/3 rule means never cut more than one-third of the grass blade length in a single mowing. This prevents stress on the grass and promotes healthier growth. For example, if your grass is 3 inches tall, don't cut off more than 1 inch.

Professional lawn care can be worth it in Birmingham due to the long growing season and challenging climate. However, a DIY approach using Sunday's customized plans can be equally effective and more cost-efficient. You'll get professional-grade products, expert guidance, and the flexibility to maintain your lawn on your schedule.

Lawn care focuses on the biological health of your grass through fertilization, weed control, and soil health. Lawn service typically refers to maintenance tasks like mowing, edging, and cleanup. While both contribute to a healthy yard, lawn care addresses the underlying health while service handles aesthetic upkeep.

Here are budget-friendly lawn maintenance tips for Birmingham:

      1. Mow at proper height (3-4 inches) to promote deeper roots and natural weed control
      2. Water deeply but infrequently (1-1.5 inches per week) in early morning
      3. Leave grass clippings as natural fertilizer
      4. Use Sunday's customized fertilizer plan for targeted nutrition
      5. Spot treat weeds rather than whole-lawn applications
      6. Core aerate annually to improve soil health
      7. Overseed thin areas in fall to prevent weed invasion

Key factors affecting lawn care pricing in Birmingham include:

      • Lot size (larger yards cost more)
      • Service frequency needed due to long growing season
      • Soil conditions and required treatments
      • Type of grass (Bermuda and Zoysia common)
      • Additional services like weed control or seeding
      • Labor and material costs in the region

For warm-season grasses common in Birmingham, mow every 5-7 days during peak growing season (April-September) and every 10-14 days during slower growth periods. Maintain Bermuda grass at 1-2 inches and Zoysia at 1.5-2.5 inches tall. Adjust frequency based on growth rate and seasonal conditions.
