The slightly alkaline soil pH of 7.9 means lawn fertilizing should focus on nutrients that work well in higher pH conditions. While calcium levels are strong, other key nutrients may need attention through a custom lawn plan.

Tips for lawn care in Boerne:

    • Get a soil test to check nutrient levels
    • Water deeply but less often to help roots grow through clay soil
    • Mow at proper height for your grass type - find specific heights in our lawn guide
    • Choose lawn care products that work with your soil type
    • Create a seasonal plan that matches your grass growing season

    Texas Lawn

It is super convenient to have your lawn treatment mailed to your door and ready for application. I find the hints for when and how to apply very helpful as well as the hints for lawn care. With all the news about rising prices of fertilizer I was worried my rates would change just prior to the spring season, but Sunday held the prices for the membership steady. I would love to tell you how great my lawn looks today, but here in central Texas I am just happy my lawn is still alive with the water restrictions in place.

    Yard Never Better

I previously used a monthly service for my yard and they were terrible and expensive. I used them for a whole season and they never could get rid of the weeds and usually missed treating all of the yard. Since Ive switched to Sunday my yard has never looked better. Still have some crabgrass I'm fighting with but overall I am extremely happy with the products from Sunday. Highly recommend.

    South Texas Fan

Living in San Antonio where we are under drought restrictions, managing a lawn is challenging. My Sunday plan supplemented with Drought Defense and Water Focus has produced amazing results on my turf. Add to that the ease and effectiveness of Weed Warrior on my rock beds, this company has a BIG fan.

      Boerne, Texas FAQs

The average cost of professional lawn care services in Boerne, TX ranges from $45-85 per visit for a standard quarter-acre lot. Sunday's custom lawn plans start at $55 per season and include fertilizer, soil testing, and expert support - making it a more affordable option than traditional services.

For warm-season grasses common in Boerne, mow every 5-7 days during peak growing season (March-October) and every 10-14 days during slower growth periods. Keep grass height between 2-3 inches and never remove more than 1/3 of the blade length in a single mowing.

The 1/3 rule states you should never cut off more than one-third of the grass blade length in a single mowing. Following this rule prevents stress on the grass, promotes deeper root growth, and maintains a healthier lawn. Cutting too much at once can weaken or damage the grass.

For a healthy lawn in Boerne, TX:

      1. Water deeply but infrequently (1-1.5 inches per week) in early morning
      2. Fertilize based on soil test results during key growth periods (spring and fall)
      3. Control weeds through spot treatment rather than blanket applications
      4. Maintain proper mowing height (2-3 inches) during growing season
      5. Aerate annually to reduce soil compaction
      6. Overseed thin areas in fall with climate-appropriate grass varieties

Focus on building healthy soil and strong root systems rather than just surface appearance. This creates a more resilient, self-sustaining lawn that requires fewer inputs over time.

Water deeply 1-1.5 inches per week in early morning (before 10am) in 2-3 sessions. During summer heat, water up to 2 inches weekly. Adjust for rainfall and reduce in winter. Look for signs of water stress like folding grass blades or footprints remaining visible in grass.

A quarter-acre lawn in Boerne typically costs $45-85 per visit with traditional services. Sunday's custom lawn plans offer a more budget-friendly option starting at $55 per season, including fertilizer, soil testing, and expert guidance. Plans are customized based on your exact lawn size and needs.

To maintain your lawn affordably in Boerne:

      1. Do your own mowing on a regular schedule
      2. Follow proper watering practices
      3. Use a DIY lawn care plan like Sunday that includes targeted fertilizer and soil testing
      4. Spot treat weeds rather than using blanket applications
      5. Keep mower blades sharp to prevent lawn damage

In Boerne, TX, professional lawn mowing services typically cost $45-65 per cut for an average quarter-acre lot. Prices vary based on lot size, terrain, and service frequency. For regular weekly or bi-weekly service during peak growing season, companies may offer package discounts.
