Lawn care for Princeton, Texas
| Average lawn size | 2,791 sq ft |
| Dominant grass type | Warm-season grasses like bermudagrass, zoysia, and St. Augustine |
| Typical soil pH | 8.0 (slightly alkaline) |
| Organic matter | 2.21% |
| Soil composition | 20% sand, 25% silt, 55% clay (heavy clay) |
| Key nutrients | Potassium 181 ppm, phosphorus 24 ppm, calcium 5,428 ppm |
Princeton lawns come with personality. That heavy clay soil holds water like a grudge, and the alkaline pH means some nutrients play hard to get. But warm-season grasses actually thrive here once you work with the dirt, not against it.
Princeton lawn care starts with understanding your clay
Your clay-heavy ground compacts easily, so aerate in late spring when bermuda and St. Augustine are growing strong. Water deep but less often (clay already holds moisture). One common mistake? Overwatering, which turns that dense soil into a soggy mess. For more seasonal tips, check out our lawn guides.

It beat the Texas heat!
The Micro Boost Liquid Fertilizer from Sunday has been nothing short of a revelation for my lawn care regimen. I live in Texas, a state notorious for its record-breaking summer heat, making it incredibly challenging to maintain a green, lush lawn. Before using this product, I tried multiple fertilizers with limited success, particularly in the peak of the summer. What sets Sunday's Micro Boost apart is its apparent resilience. Even in extreme temperatures, my grass remained mostly green. The texture and overall health of the lawn seemed to improve as well, displaying less of the brown patches and dry spots that are typical of a harsh Texan summer. The application process was very straightforward. The liquid formula is easy to distribute, and I felt confident knowing that I was using a product designed with environmental sustainability in mind.

Texas Lawn
It is super convenient to have your lawn treatment mailed to your door and ready for application. I find the hints for when and how to apply very helpful as well as the hints for lawn care. With all the news about rising prices of fertilizer I was worried my rates would change just prior to the spring season, but Sunday held the prices for the membership steady. I would love to tell you how great my lawn looks today, but here in central Texas I am just happy my lawn is still alive with the water restrictions in place.

Texas = Hot
Easy application and real time support, couldn’t be happier with the system. Had issues this past year with fungus growing, fixed with a better watering plan. Now my issue is the brutal Texas heat.

| Recommended grass species | Bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, St. Augustinegrass, buffalograss |
| Best establishment method | Seeding, sodding, or plugging |
| Spring seeding window | April 21 to June 2 |

Why April through early June matters most
Your spring seeding window runs from late April to early June, when soil temps finally cooperate. The biggest local mistake? Skipping soil amendments on that heavy clay. Work in some organic matter before planting, and water deeply but less often to encourage roots that can handle July's heat. Browse premium grass seed or find the right grass for your yard.
