The greenest way to block unpleasant views in a short amount of time
Growing remarkably fast at a rate of 3 to 5 feet per year, Green Giant Arborvitae can reach towering heights in short order. And it’s hardy too—growing in any soil and tolerating both heat and cold.
If you need to screen something—especially a tall something, like the two-story house being built next door with a clear view into your backyard—you need a few Green Giants to quickly block that view. No other tree will do the job as quickly or effectively.

Question: When is the best time to plant these for upstate NY (zip code 14564)?
Jeff McConathy
Thanks for reaching out! Early spring (after the last frost) and fall (before the ground freezes) are the best times to plant Green Giant Arborvitae. Fall is often considered ideal because it allows the tree to establish its root system during the cooler months, but especially as the season starts to wrap up, it may make more sense to wait until spring for your area!
