Ingredients

Common bermudagrass seed grows thick, durable grass built for southern heat and full sun. Slow-release fertilizer (1-0-0 NPK) feeds new seedlings steadily so they establish strong roots. Recycled paper mulch holds moisture around the seed and keeps it in place while it germinates.

How to use

Plant late spring to mid-summer when temps are between 70 to 90 degrees F and the area gets full sun.

  1. Prep the area. Loosen the top layer of soil in any bare or thin spots and remove debris.
  2. Apply the mix. Spread 1 cup per 1 sq ft for bare areas, or 1 pound per 15 sq ft for thinning areas. Lightly press the mix into the soil.
  3. Water consistently. Water 1 to 2 times daily, early morning and evening, until the grass reaches about 2 inches tall. Limit foot traffic until established.

How long does Bare Repair Bermudagrass take to grow?

Bare Repair Bermudagrass seed germinates in 7 to 21 days with consistent moisture and warm temperatures.

Keep the soil damp by watering 1 to 2 times daily until new grass reaches about 2 inches tall.

Can I use Bare Repair on hybrid bermudagrass?

No. Bare Repair Bermudagrass is for common bermudagrass lawns only. Hybrid varieties like Tifway 419 and Celebration cannot be seeded.

Hybrid bermudagrass must be repaired with sod or plugs of the same variety.

How much Bare Repair do I need for my bare spots?

Bare Repair Bermudagrass covers up to 65 sq ft per bag. Apply 1 cup per 1 sq ft for bare areas, or 1 pound per 15 sq ft for thinning areas.

When is the best time to apply Bare Repair Bermudagrass?

Bare Repair Bermudagrass works best when planted in late spring to mid-summer when temperatures stay between 70 to 90 degrees F.

The seed needs full sun exposure, so choose areas that get direct sunlight throughout the day.

Can I use Bare Repair to overseed my bermuda lawn?

Bare Repair Bermudagrass is designed for spot repair of bare and thin patches, not full-lawn overseeding.

For overseeding a larger bermudagrass lawn, Bermuda Time seed is a better fit at 1 pound per 1,000 sq ft.

What causes bare spots in bermuda grass?

Bare spots in bermudagrass lawns are commonly caused by dog damage, foot traffic, mower scalping, drought, or compacted soil.

Bare Repair Bermudagrass fills these spots with a 3-in-1 mix of seed, fertilizer, and mulch for visible results in 21 days.

This works really well!

We had some dead sod in our yard that was past the point of saving. Pulled it up and used this seed mix right on top of the soil. Within one week we had sprouts, and now on week two it is still filling in very nicely! We water it in the evening and mid-morning so that it doesn't dry out. Definitely ...

Great product, but could be more affordable

The only downside of this product is that it is expensive relative to comparable products, especially given its small packaging s...

But the repair and seeds don’t work for Bermuda I had to go and buy so...

Bermuda grass repair

Super easy to apply with the shaker bottle. Took a couple or three weeks to see the sprouts popping up, but it helped fill in the bare spots.

Spotty growth after treatment

The mulch mixture agglomerated on the treatment patches and persisted for 2 weeks. It formed grey patches on the lawn that I had to rake to move around. There was some new growth in some areas after we raked the mulch, but some spots were still bare.
