Sunday Tip:

If you seed warm-season or cool-season grasses before optimal growing temperatures, the seeding will likely not be successful. But, you can always reseed once temperatures improve!

Bare Repair application tips

  • Choose the correct seed type for your lawn's climate.
  • Keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate.
  • Apply at the recommended rate for even growth. Don’t over-apply seed; too much can increase problems, but under-application causes thin growth.
  • Regular watering is crucial – 1-2x daily for Bare Repair.
  • You can start mowing again once your new grass once the grass type reaches proper mowing height.

What is Bare Repair

Bare Repair is a 3-in-1 grass seed patch repair solution that combines premium grass seed, slow-release nutrients, and recycled mulch for existing lawns.

When should I use Bare Repair?

Seeding and patching should be an annual practice and done as needed for lawns throughout the growing season. If you have a cool-season lawn, the best times for seeding are early fall and early spring; if you have a warm-season lawn, the best time is late spring or early summer.

How do I use this with other Sunday products?

Before seeding, make sure to control weeds. Why? The more weeds you remove, the more effective your seeding will be—meaning more grass with less competition from weeds. You can apply fertilizer before or after patching. For best results, wait 2-3 weeks to allow for seed germination.

What if I apply out of order?

If you applied fertilizer or any other liquid product first, wait until the product dries completely, then patch.

If you didn’t apply weed control before applying Bare Repair, that’s OK. After patching, water in Bare Repair and avoid heavy traffic across the lawn for at least 24 hours to allow the watering to pull seeds into the soil. Then, you can treat your weeds.

Note: Seeding should always be followed by frequent watering, so wait to apply pest bait (and any other products that should not get wet) until after the germination process.
