Give new grass the roots it deserves

Whether you're starting a lawn from scratch or overseeding thin spots, your grass needs a strong foundation below the surface. This lawn starter fertilizer delivers a healthy dose of phosphorus right where it counts, helping roots establish fast so new grass fills in thick and stays that way. The liquid formula spreads evenly through your hose, so every inch gets the same attention.

A Sunday premium selection. This one packs more nutrients per pouch than a standard fertilizer, so your new grass gets everything it needs to root deep and fill in strong.

Ingredients

Nitrogen
Fuels leaf and blade growth so your new grass greens up and fills in faster.

Phosphorus
The star of this formula. Drives root development, helps new grass anchor deep, and helps support phosphorus deficient soil.

Potassium
Strengthens your grass from the inside out, improving water uptake and resilience to heat, drought, and everyday stress.

How to use
  1. Time it right. Apply early morning or evening when temps are cooler. Make sure your lawn is hydrated and not drought stressed.
  2. Connect the sprayer. Attach the custom hose end sprayer to your garden hose, then connect the 42 fl oz pouch to the sprayer.
  3. Apply evenly. Turn on the water and walk at a steady pace, spraying until the pouch is empty. This takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Pair with seeding. For new lawns, apply at or just after seeding. For overseeding, apply right after spreading seed to give roots a head start.
  5. Reapply every 4 to 6 weeks. Keep feeding from spring through fall for continued root growth and a thicker lawn.

How do I know if my soil needs phosphorus?

A soil test is the best way to know for sure. Common signs of phosphorus deficiency include purple leaves and thinning turfgrass. Lawn Starter Liquid Fertilizer is designed for those conditions and for first-year lawns.

Why do new lawns need phosphorus?

New grass seedlings have shorter roots that can't reach phosphorus deeper in the soil. Lawn Starter Liquid Fertilizer delivers 16% phosphorus right where young roots can actually use it.

Can I use Lawn Starter for overseeding?

Yes. Lawn Starter Liquid Fertilizer gives new grass seedlings the phosphorus boost they need to build strong roots after overseeding. Apply every 4 to 6 weeks from spring through fall.

Can I use Lawn Starter with other Sunday fertilizers?

Yes. Apply Lawn Starter Liquid Fertilizer first, then wait 7 to 10 days before applying your regular Sunday Lawn Plan fertilizer. That spacing lets each product do its job.

How long does it take for Lawn Starter to show results?

Results from Lawn Starter Liquid Fertilizer depend on your growing conditions, soil health, and grass type. You'll support stronger root growth with each application every 4 to 6 weeks.

Is liquid fertilizer as effective as granular?

Liquid fertilizer typically works faster than granular, while granular fertilizer may last longer. Both have their purpose. For seeding new lawns, a liquid fertilizer is ideal. Liquid application means even coverage without the guesswork of spreading granules by hand.

When is it safe for people and pets to go on my lawn after applying?

Our ingredients break down quickly and don’t persist in the environment. After our products dry, you can get back to using your lawn!
