Keep the grass and lose the weeds

Dandelion Doom Concentrate Refill is an iron based lawn safe weed killer that goes after dandelions, clover, thistle, chickweed, and plantain. The FeHEDTA formula overwhelms broadleaf weeds while your grass continues to thrive. No 2,4-D, no harsh chemicals. A post-emergent spot treatment for weeds you can see. Pour, mix, and spray with your Dandelion Doom Starter Pack.

What makes Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate Refill (2-pack) different

  • Targets broadleaf weeds, results in hours
  • Iron based formula with no harsh chemicals
  • Grass stays green while broadleaf weeds fade
  • Works with your existing herbicide sprayer
  • Also controls moss, liverworts, and algae
  • Approved for use in all 50 states

Ingredients

Chelated Iron (FeHEDTA) is the active ingredient. Iron occurs naturally in soil and your lawn already uses it. When sprayed directly on broadleaf weeds, they absorb the iron fast and it overwhelms them. Grass absorbs the iron slowly, so it tolerates the treatment. You may notice temporary darkening of your grass after application. That's just the iron doing its thing, and your lawn will bounce right back.

How to use

Apply when temperatures are between 50 and 85 degrees F and no rain is expected for at least 3 hours.

  1. Pour one full bottle of Dandelion Doom into your reusable Sunday pouch and attach the sprayer
  2. Use your outside hose to fill the pouch up to the 1 gallon mark
  3. Secure the cap and shake well
  4. Spray onto weeds in your lawn until leaves are entirely covered
  5. Repeat treatment in 3 to 4 weeks for best results

When should I use Dandelion Doom on my lawn?

Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate works best from spring through fall when weeds are actively growing. Apply between 50 and 85 degrees F when no rain is expected for at least 3 hours.

Avoid mowing 1 to 2 days before and after treatment.

How long does it take for Dandelion Doom to work?

Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate shows visible results within 1-2 days. Weeds darken and wilt as the iron formula takes effect.

For stubborn weeds, reapply every 3 to 4 weeks. Spray until leaves are entirely covered.

Why is my grass turning dark after applying Dandelion Doom?

Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate can temporarily darken grass blades due to the iron formula. This is normal and your grass will recover.

Broadleaf weeds absorb iron faster than grass, which is how Dandelion Doom stays selective.

How do I apply the concentrate?

Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate Refill requires the Sunday Herbicide Pouch and Sprayer in order to apply the product. The reusable pouch and sprayer are sold separately, or can be purchased as part of the Dandelion Doom Starter Pack

How is iron based weed control different from conventional weed killers?

Dandelion Doom uses iron chelate (FeHEDTA) instead of conventional ingredients like 2,4-D. Weeds absorb the iron quickly and it overwhelms them, while the grass remains unaffected.

No harsh chemicals. Also controls moss, algae, and lawn diseases like Dollar Spot.

What weeds does Dandelion Doom get rid of?

Dandelion Doom Herbicide Concentrate targets broadleaf weeds including dandelion, clover, thistle, chickweed, plantain, creeping charlie, and oxalis. Also controls moss, algae, and lichens.

It does not affect grasses or grass like weeds, or prevent new weeds from sprouting. Each 5 oz bottle treats up to 224 sq ft. The 2-pack covers 448 sq ft total.

Fast working and effective!

I used the small wand with a pouch and sprayed each dandelion plant individually. Before spraying, my yard looked like my neighbors. 24 hours later, they are dying nicely!

Works ok, but weeds came back

Used this in the spring and again in the summer. It managed to kill the weeds temporarily, but they came back.

I give up after two sprayers

Never could try the product: two sprayers in a row dead on arrival. Very frustrating. Also, do YOU feel it’s easy to find troubleshooting steps on your website? Set a timer, and ask a coworker to browse the site for instructions on how to test the Dandelion Doom product if it isn’t working.

Quality control needs work

The herbicide is decent. Not great, but decent. My bigger complaint is that 3 of the bag/wand combos have leaked excessively - cost me time and money. The first time it happened, made huge mess in my garage. I learned my lesson, cleaned it all up, and put the equipment in a plastic bin. Next bag/wan...

Hi Adam, we are so sorry — three leaks is not a streak of bad luck, it's a pattern, and we own that completely. You did everything right: you cleaned up the first mess, took precautions with a bin, and gave us another chance after we replaced your wand. Having that battery short out after all of that is genuinely unacceptable, and we're embarrassed it came to this. We've flagging this as a quality issue with our R&D team. Your feedback on the Dandelion Doom 2-pack is exactly the kind of thing that needs to reach them. We have refunded you for your pouch and sprayer. You've been more patient with us than we deserved, and we don't take that lightly. Thank you for sticking with Sunday as long as you have.

Dandelion weed killer doesn't work

I followed the instructions and sprayed each dandelion in my front and back yard, nothing happened. Dandelions are just as healthy as they were before. some of my grass died around the dandelions though, so it may be a good grass killer.

Hi Ken, thank you for sharing this, we're really sorry to hear about your experience, and we want to get to the bottom of it. A couple of things can affect how our weed control performs on dandelions: -Temperature at application: Our formula works best when temps are between 50–90°F. Applications in heat over 90°F or during cooler stretches can reduce effectiveness. - Dandelion growth stage: Dandelions are hardiest when they're flowering. Spraying when they're young and actively growing (pre-flower) tends to get the best results. - Coverage: Dandelion leaves have a waxy coating, so thorough coverage on the tops *and* undersides of the leaves is key. We'd love to make this right. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll work with you on next steps!

Works for me!

It works for me. I also pick off every flower before it even fully blooms to prevent more seeds. I use it in my front yard only, and you can really tell the difference. I spot treat, rather than spray the whole lawn.

Followed direction perfectly. Nothing. Dandelions never died, still growing. Will switch to a different brand for weed control

Does not work! Applied on a sunny day. Says you'll see wilting in a few hours. Nope! Waited 2 days still nothing. No rain fell for 2 days. Applied again after rain. Still nothing and there are more danelions. Seems like a complete waste of money! Going back to ortho weed be gone

We’re really sorry to hear this was your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. Dandelion Doom works best when sprayed directly on actively growing weeds with full leaf coverage, and some mature dandelions can take more than one application plus a little patience before showing results. Cooler temps, stressed weeds, or rain timing can also slow things down. We know stubborn dandelions can feel personally offensive this time of year, and we’d love the chance to help troubleshoot and get better results from your next application.

Kills the tops but not the root

From my experience I have used the Dandelion Doom for 2 years and it would work on the top of the weed but then it will not work on the root. The Plant would die and then grow back. I have gone to hand pulling the weeds and I am pulling up some dandelion with some very big and long tap roots. Too ba...

Thanks for sharing your experience, and honestly, those deep dandelion taproots can feel like nature’s version of a prank. Dandelion Doom is designed to target the weed down to the root over time, but larger, established dandelions with mature taproots can sometimes survive and regrow, especially if they’ve had a few seasons to settle in like unwanted houseguests. Hand pulling combined with spot treatment is actually a really solid strategy for stubborn weeds like these. We appreciate you giving it a real shot for two seasons, and we’re always here to help troubleshoot so your lawn can spend less time battling dandelions and more time looking gloriously green.
