Your lawn called, it wants backup for summer

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed is a 3 in 1 grass seed, fertilizer, and soil conditioner for cool season lawns facing summer heat. Lawn burning out with brown patches? This pesticide free tall fescue seed and feed overseeds existing turf while the 9-0-2 NPK blend feeds it for 6 weeks. It includes soil conditioners most competitors skip. Pair with Bare Repair, or a Custom Lawn Plan.

What makes Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed, 10lb different

  • Overseeds and feeds in one application
  • Includes soil conditioners competitors leave out
  • Apply in 20 minutes or less with a spreader
  • Pesticide free, no harsh chemicals
  • 9-0-2 NPK feeds your lawn for 6 weeks
  • Premium tall fescue blend for summer heat

Ingredients

  • Nitrogen (9%), drives growth and greening so your lawn fills in thick and stays green longer.
  • Potassium (2%), improves your lawn's tolerance to heat stress and drought, helping it hold up through the worst of summer.
  • Grass seed (heat resistant tall fescue blend), selected for heat resistance in transitional climate zones where cool season grasses struggle in summer.
  • Soil conditioners (limestone, gypsum, dried poultry waste), improve soil structure and long term soil health, giving roots a better environment to grow.

How to use

Apply when daily average temps are between 60 and 75 degrees F. Early morning or evening works best. Make sure your lawn is hydrated and avoid applying to drought stressed lawns.

  1. Mow your lawn and remove all grass clippings.
  2. Apply with a hand or broadcast spreader at 10 lbs per 1,500 sq ft. Follow package rates and apply uniformly.
  3. Keep soil moist but not saturated until new grass reaches about 2 inches, then return to your normal watering schedule.
  4. Reapply every 6 weeks during the growing season, up to four times per year.

When is the best time to apply Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed works best in spring or fall when daily average temps are 60 to 75 degrees F. Apply early morning or evening for the best results. Avoid applying too early or too late in the season, since cold snaps or freezes can slow down germination.

How long does Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed take to germinate?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed germinates in 8 to 21 days with proper watering and application. Keep the soil moist but not saturated until new grass reaches about 2 inches tall. You'll see the best results when you water consistently and avoid letting the soil dry out.

Can I use Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed on a Bermuda lawn?

No. Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed is not designed for warm season grasses like Bermuda. It contains a heat resistant tall fescue blend built for cool season lawns in transitional zones. If you have Bermuda or another warm season grass, check out our other seed options for a better fit.

Can I apply Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed with other Sunday fertilizers?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed should not be applied at the same time as other Sunday fertilizers. Wait 4 to 6 weeks between this product and any other Sunday fertilizer application. Spacing them out gives your lawn time to absorb nutrients without overdoing it.

How much water does my lawn need after applying Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed needs consistent moisture after application. Keep the soil moist but not saturated until new grass reaches about 2 inches. Make sure your lawn is hydrated before you apply, and water lightly each day to support germination.

How often can I reapply Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed?

Heat Tolerant Seed + Feed can be reapplied every 4 weeks when temperatures are favorable for germination, up to four times per year. Avoid reapplying on drought affected or heat stressed lawns. One 10 lb bag covers 1,500 sq ft per application.
