How to apply your kit
Control weeds
Weeds can quickly take over your lawn if not controlled properly. To ensure your lawn looks its best—and to avoid feeding weeds—it's important to control weeds before applying fertilizer.
First: Assemble the reusable pouch and read the instructions.
Before applying, review Dandelion Doom Concentrate Instructions to assemble.
Then: Hand-pull larger weeds.
Anything over 5 inches in height should be hand-pulled.
Then: Spot-treat weeds with Dandelion Doom.
To spray weeds, point the wand at the weeds and when ready to spray, flip on the switch and drench the leaves, stems, and roots with Dandelion Doom. Flip off the sprayer in between weed treatments. Wait 24 hours before applying anything else to the lawn.
Last: Store properly, and repeat weed control as needed.
It’s likely you’ll only use some of the pouch. Remember to store the pouch for future use and reapply throughout the season.
Weed control dos
- Remove flowers on weeds before spraying to protect pollinators.
- Split the top of roots for larger weeds for enhanced results.
- Reapply if it rains within three hours of application.
Weed control don’ts
- Apply as a broadcast application to the lawn or spray desirable plants.
- Spray on rocks, concrete, or other hard surfaces. The iron in Dandelion Doom can stain porous surfaces.
Apply Lawn Kickstart
24 hours after applying weed control, you can apply Lawn Kickstart.
First: Prep the pouch and attach hose to sprayer.
Shake the pouch and attach the sprayer nozzle after removing the cap. Next, connect your hose and turn on the water.
Then: Apply Lawn Kickstart.
When you’re ready, open the valve to spray your pouch. Aim for a light, even coat of nutrients across the entire coverage area, doubling back for an additional coat if needed.
Application rate depends on your lawn size:
- 500-1,000 square feet: apply ¼ of pouch* (4 uses)
- 1,000-2,000 square feet: apply ½ of pouch* (2 uses)
- 2,000-5,000 square feet: apply full pouch (1 use)
*If applying a fraction of a pouch, wait at least a week between applications.
Last: Save your sprayer (and your pouch if need be).
If there's leftover fertilizer, apply every other week until it's gone.
Apply Grass Machine
4-6 weeks after your last application of Lawn Kickstart, apply Grass Machine. Repeat the same steps you used to apply Lawn Kickstart.
First: Prep the pouch and attach the hose to the sprayer.
Then: Apply Grass Machine.
Last: Save your sprayer (and your pouch if need be).
Fertilizer dos
- Apply fertilizer in the early morning or evening.
- Make sure your lawn is sufficiently hydrated before applying.

Fertilizer don’t
- Apply to drought- or heat-stressed lawns.
- Walk on your lawn until the fertilizer has dried.

Sunday Tip:
Late spring fertilizer can react to heat and dryness in some areas. If faced with this, ensure your lawn is well-hydrated and apply during cooler parts of the day.

How do I use this with other Sunday products?
Ideally, tackle as many weeds as you can before fertilizing to avoid feeding them. No need for a perfectly weed-free lawn, but less is better!
Planning to seed? Fertilize either before or after planting seeds. Remember, fertilizer nourishes growing grass, not seeds or bare soil. Ideally, apply fertilizer 2–3 weeks post-seeding for best results.
What if I apply out of order?
This happens! If you fertilize before weed control, wait at least 24 hours before doing anything else to your lawn. This ensures other products or lawn care won't disrupt the fertilizer's effectiveness.
How and where do I store products?
Store this product sitting upright with the cap closed tightly. Do not store in excessive heat or freezing temperatures. Pouches can be reused but shake well before each use for optimal performance.
