Less bottle, fewer weeds

Dandelion Doom Concentrate Refill is an iron-based broadleaf weed killer for your existing Sunday sprayer. Pour, mix, spray, and watch dandelions, clover and chickweed curl up within hours. The FeHEDTA formula targets weeds while grass stays green. Grab a Starter Pack if you need the sprayer, or build a Custom DIY Lawn Care plan around it.

What makes Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill different

  • Stops dandelions, clover and 25 more weeds
  • Iron-based formula, no harsh chemicals
  • Visible results in hours, not days
  • Works on moss, algae and lawn diseases too
  • Refill design means less plastic waste
  • Pairs with any Sunday concentrate sprayer setup

Ingredients

Iron chelate (FeHEDTA), the only active ingredient in Dandelion Doom. Iron is naturally present in soil and grass can handle plenty of it. Broadleaf weeds absorb iron much faster, reaching toxic levels that dry them out from the inside. Your lawn gets a deep green color from the extra iron while weeds get stopped cold.

How to use

Apply between 50 to 85 degrees F when no rain is expected for 3 or more hours.

  1. Pour one full bottle of Dandelion Doom into your reusable Sunday pouch and attach the sprayer
  2. Use your outside hose to fill the pouch up to the 1 gallon mark
  3. Secure the cap and shake well
  4. Spray onto weeds in your lawn until leaves are completely covered
  5. Repeat treatment in 3 to 4 weeks for best results

How long does it take for Dandelion Doom to work?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill may show visible results within hours of application. Weeds will darken and curl as the iron formula takes effect.

Larger, more established weeds may take longer to fully dry out. For tough weeds, repeat treatment in 3 to 4 weeks.

What weeds does Dandelion Doom control?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill controls over 25 broadleaf weeds including dandelions, clover, chickweed, creeping charlie, thistle and plantain.

It also works on moss, algae and lichens, and can suppress lawn diseases like dollar spot and rust.

Do I need the starter pack to use this refill?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill requires the reusable pouch and wand sprayer from a Dandelion Doom Starter Pack or Starter 2-Pack.

This bottle contains concentrate only. If you do not already have the Sunday sprayer system, purchase a Starter Pack first, and the refill next time.

How does Dandelion Doom work without harming grass?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill uses iron chelate (FeHEDTA) as its active ingredient. Weeds absorb iron fast, reaching toxic levels that dry them out.

Grass tolerates much higher iron amounts. Your lawn may turn deeper green where you spray, which is normal.

When is the best time to apply Dandelion Doom?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill works best when applied between 50 to 85 degrees F on a dry day with no rain expected for 3 or more hours.

Spray when weeds are actively growing for the strongest results. You can apply before or after lawn fertilizer.

Does Dandelion Doom stain surfaces?

Dandelion Doom Weed Killer Concentrate Refill can stain sidewalks, concrete and other hard surfaces due to its high iron content.

Mix and apply over grassy areas only. If you accidentally spill on a hard surface, spray water immediately to dilute it and reduce staining.

Fast working and effective!

I used the small wand with a pouch and sprayed each dandelion plant individually. Before spraying, my yard looked like my neighbors. 24 hours later, they are dying nicely!

Good product

Works great. Have used it a couple years now on my southwest Florida lawn. Neighbors have the "snowball" and assortment of weeds- my lawn is all grass. I spot onto the specific weeds and walk the entire property. It kills about 90% of the varieties of weeds here in my hot humid area.

Works ok, but weeds came back

Used this in the spring and again in the summer. It managed to kill the weeds temporarily, but they came back.

I give up after two sprayers

Never could try the product: two sprayers in a row dead on arrival. Very frustrating. Also, do YOU feel it’s easy to find troubleshooting steps on your website? Set a timer, and ask a coworker to browse the site for instructions on how to test the Dandelion Doom product if it isn’t working.

Quality control needs work

The herbicide is decent. Not great, but decent. My bigger complaint is that 3 of the bag/wand combos have leaked excessively - cost me time and money. The first time it happened, made huge mess in my garage. I learned my lesson, cleaned it all up, and put the equipment in a plastic bin. Next bag/wan...

Hi Adam, we are so sorry — three leaks is not a streak of bad luck, it's a pattern, and we own that completely. You did everything right: you cleaned up the first mess, took precautions with a bin, and gave us another chance after we replaced your wand. Having that battery short out after all of that is genuinely unacceptable, and we're embarrassed it came to this. We've flagging this as a quality issue with our R&D team. Your feedback on the Dandelion Doom 2-pack is exactly the kind of thing that needs to reach them. We have refunded you for your pouch and sprayer. You've been more patient with us than we deserved, and we don't take that lightly. Thank you for sticking with Sunday as long as you have.

Dandelion weed killer doesn't work

I followed the instructions and sprayed each dandelion in my front and back yard, nothing happened. Dandelions are just as healthy as they were before. some of my grass died around the dandelions though, so it may be a good grass killer.

Hi Ken, thank you for sharing this, we're really sorry to hear about your experience, and we want to get to the bottom of it. A couple of things can affect how our weed control performs on dandelions: -Temperature at application: Our formula works best when temps are between 50–90°F. Applications in heat over 90°F or during cooler stretches can reduce effectiveness. - Dandelion growth stage: Dandelions are hardiest when they're flowering. Spraying when they're young and actively growing (pre-flower) tends to get the best results. - Coverage: Dandelion leaves have a waxy coating, so thorough coverage on the tops *and* undersides of the leaves is key. We'd love to make this right. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll work with you on next steps!

Works for me!

It works for me. I also pick off every flower before it even fully blooms to prevent more seeds. I use it in my front yard only, and you can really tell the difference. I spot treat, rather than spray the whole lawn.

Followed direction perfectly. Nothing. Dandelions never died, still growing. Will switch to a different brand for weed control

We're sorry to hear that and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Dandelions can be especially stubborn, and factors like weed maturity, application timing, and weather conditions can affect results. We'd love to learn more about your lawn and application so we can help troubleshoot. Our team is always happy to take a closer look and help you get the most from your products.

Does not wprk!

Does not work! Applied on a sunny day. Says you'll see wilting in a few hours. Nope! Waited 2 days still nothing. No rain fell for 2 days. Applied again after rain. Still nothing and there are more danelions. Seems like a complete waste of money! Going back to ortho weed be gone

We’re really sorry to hear this was your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. Dandelion Doom works best when sprayed directly on actively growing weeds with full leaf coverage, and some mature dandelions can take more than one application plus a little patience before showing results. Cooler temps, stressed weeds, or rain timing can also slow things down. We know stubborn dandelions can feel personally offensive this time of year, and we’d love the chance to help troubleshoot and get better results from your next application.
