Select target zones
Choose a yard protection zone, the area where your family spends the most time.
Spray the area
Spray in an up-and-down motion, moving quickly to cover the entire area. Here are some additional places to target specific pests:
- Ticks: Spray shady areas where ticks can hide from direct sunlight, including woods, trees, and bushes. Focus on the area where the shade meets the lawn, spraying at least a 12-foot wide protective barrier.
- Mosquitoes: Spray shaded and damp areas where mosquitoes can breed, under decks, shrubs, bushes, and ground cover.
- Fleas: Spray low, dark corners and wood piles where fleas may leave larvae, and spray several feet along the border between your lawn and any brushy, wooded areas.
Let it dry
Let the sprayed area dry.
We recommend keeping kids and pets away from areas while spraying. But everyone can return to the area after the product has dried!
Reapply as needed
Regular application provides continued protection and helps reduce tick populations in your yard.
Reinforce your new pest barrier 7 days after your first application. For best results, apply every 30 days from then on.

- Mosquitoes: Drain standing water from containers like planters, cans, and gutters.
- Ticks: Keep your lawn well-maintained, including trimming bushes and tall grass.
- Fleas: Clear yard of debris, leaves, unwanted wood piles, and furniture.
Nix Ticks FAQs
How often should I apply it?
Apply twice within 7 days to kick start pest reduction, then every 30 days after that for best results.
How do I use this with other Sunday products? Why should I apply in this order?
Apply all Sunday lawn products before applying pest control sprays. Start with pest sprays, followed by home barriers like Bug Doom, and use dry bait last. Why? Pest sprays must dry after application to be most effective, and our dry baits shouldn't get wet. Avoid applying any liquid products or watering after application.
What if I apply out of order?
Wait until any other liquid products dry, then apply pest spray. If dry pest bait was applied first, avoid bait-treated areas when spraying pest repellent or reapply bait if it gets wet.
Regardless of the order applied, we recommend allowing pest control to dry for a few hours before doing anything else to the lawn. Otherwise, water or other liquid productscan interfere with the pest control’s ability to repel properly.
