Our pest control subscriptions focus on the ones that ruin a backyard evening. Each plan is sized to your yard and shipped once for the whole season. No guessing. No last-minute runs to the hardware store in July.
We follow Integrated Pest Management, so prevention comes first and spraying comes last. Scroll on to find your fit.
What to know before choosing a lawn pest control subscription
A subscription gets you ahead of pests instead of chasing them. Before you commit to one, here's what to check:
- Prevention built in: Products work best after you've drained standing water and trimmed back brush. More on that below.
- Sizing: Your plan should match your square footage. Each 32 oz bottle in our plans covers up to 5,000 sq ft, so your plan size means the right number of bottles for your yard, not a guess.
- Ingredients you recognize: Look for targeted actives like cedar oil and lemongrass oil, plus pyrethrin (from chrysanthemum flowers) and spinosad (from a soil bacterium). And look for what's left out. None of our yard sprays use DEET.
- A real schedule: Each pest runs on its own timeline. A good plan tells you the week to apply, not just "spring."
- Coverage that matches your yard: Wooded edge? Ticks. Shady patio and a kiddie pool? Mosquitoes. Dog beds and wood piles? Fleas. Ant mounds in the lawn? You need bait, not spray.
- Season-long protection: Pests get going once temperatures hold at 50 to 60 degrees F and keep going until the first hard freeze. Your plan should cover that whole stretch.
Before you spray: make your yard less inviting
Every one of our plans follows Integrated Pest Management, or IPM. Spraying comes last, not first. A few habits cut pest pressure before you open a single bottle:
- Know your pest. A tick problem and a mosquito problem live in different parts of your yard. Scout weekly and identify what you're seeing before you treat.
- Drain standing water. Planters, gutters, toys, and tarps. Mosquitoes need only a bottle cap of water to breed.
- Trim and clear. Cut back tall grass and shrubs along the yard's edge and rake up leaf litter. Move wood piles away from where people and pets hang out.
- Clean up around the foundation. Pull leaves out of window wells and trim bushes 12 inches or more from the house. Make sure trash and compost lids seal tight.
- Grow a thicker lawn. Dense turf with fewer bare spots gives pests fewer places to settle in.
Do these and you'll often need less product. The goal is pests at tolerable levels, not a yard with nothing moving in it.
Types of pest control subscription plans
Start with your biggest problem. Then size to your yard.

Mosquito Control Pest Plans: For yards where mosquitoes are the main issue. Each plan is built around Mosquito Deleto, our plant-powered hose-end spray. Cedar oil kills adult mosquitoes on contact. Lemongrass oil repels newcomers for up to 4 weeks. It's biodegradable and safe for kids and pets when used as directed. Available in small, medium, and large.
Tick Protection Plans: For yards that border woods or tall grass, and for the shaded fence lines where ticks wait. These plans use Nix Ticks, a cedar oil formula the EPA considers a minimum-risk pesticide, applied as a 12-foot barrier where shade meets your lawn. Available in small, medium, and large.
Ants: Most ants are good neighbors. They aerate soil and eat other pests. Treat them only when they're damaging your lawn or landscape, or marching toward your foundation. For that, Ant Adios Insect & Ant Killer (2-Pack) is a spinosad bait that works on the colony at the source. Give it 2 to 4 weeks for full control. If crawling insects are the bigger picture, the Crawling Pest Protection Kit bundles ant and perimeter products together.

When and how to apply pest control treatments
Timing matters as much as the product. Here's the season at a glance:
- Early spring (March to April): Once temperatures hold at 50 degrees F, apply your first tick treatment and lay down ant bait as colonies emerge.
- Late spring (May): Start mosquito applications as nights warm and moisture picks up.
- Summer (June to August): Stay on schedule. Shorten your intervals during rainy stretches.
- Fall (September to October): Keep treating for ticks through the first hard freeze. They stay active longer than most people expect.
And here's where to focus by pest:
- Ticks: Reapply every 30 days. Spray shady spots where ticks hide from direct sun, including wooded edges, the base of trees and shrubs, fence lines, and anywhere leaf litter builds up. Concentrate on a 12-foot-wide swath where shade meets open lawn.
- Mosquitoes: Reapply every 14 days in wet climates or every 28 days in dry ones. Target damp, shaded spots under decks, around shrubs, in ground cover, and anywhere else that stays cool and still.
- Fleas: Reapply every 30 days. Hit low, dark corners and wood piles, plus the places where your dog likes to rest.
- Ants: Bait once, then wait. Full colony control takes 2 to 4 weeks. Refresh bait every 2 to 4 weeks if pressure continues.
- Indoors: Only if ants are still showing up inside after outdoor treatment, apply Bug Doom along baseboards, door jambs, window sills, and cracks where pests enter.
Sunday tip: Spray twice to start. Reapply 7 days after your first application to lock in the barrier, then settle into your regular schedule.
A few technique notes. Hook the bottle to your hose and spray in an up-and-down motion until grass blades and leaves are wet. One 32 oz bottle covers about 5,000 sq ft in roughly 10 minutes. Skip blooming flowers so pollinators stay out of it. Make sure your lawn is watered and not heat-stressed before you spray. Wear eye protection and long pants, and let everything dry before people and pets head back out. Always read the full label.

How often should I reapply pest control products throughout the year?
It depends on the pest. Ticks and fleas get a fresh application every 30 days. Mosquitoes need reapplication every 14 days in wet conditions or every 28 days in dry weather. Ant bait takes 2 to 4 weeks to work through a colony, so give it time. Whatever you're treating, apply twice in the first 7 days to build a strong barrier before shifting to the regular schedule.

Can I use Sunday pest control sprays on the same day as other lawn treatments?
Generally, yes. The main thing is a lawn that's well watered and not under heat or drought stress when you spray. Let each application dry completely before applying anything else or walking on the grass, and check every label for its own drying and reentry guidance. Make your pest application as the last treatment if you apply on the same day.
Is a DIY pest control subscription more affordable than hiring an exterminator?
In most cases, yes. You get a complete, plan-based system in one shipment with no recurring service fees. You control the timing and you know exactly what's going on your yard. Each application takes about 10 minutes with a garden hose.
