Kill weeds, not your grass

Dandelion Doom is a post-emergent iron-based weed killer, designed to target broadleaf weeds, moss, and lawn diseases. Its iron-rich formula is harmful to weeds yet safe for lawns. Plus, as a biopesticide, it's an environmentally responsible approach to weed control and lawn care. This reusable 1-gallon herbicide kit, equipped with a premium battery-operated wand sprayer, ensures efficient weed control.

Effective against broadleaf weeds like black medic, plantain, thistle, chickweed, creeping buttercup, creeping charlie, dandelion, geranium sp., English daisy, false dandelion, healall, oxalis, speedwell sp/, knotweed, shepherd’s-purse, silverweed cinquefoil, white clover, wild chamomile, as well as moss, liverworts, algae and lichens. It can also control or suppress lawn diseases: dollar spot, rust and/or snow mold.

FEATURES

  • Lawn-safe weed killer concentrate
  • Kills broadleaf weeds, mosses, and algae in lawns
  • Suppresses select lawn diseases
  • Iron (FeHEDTA) nutrient formula
  • Fast acting—results within hours
  • Kills weeds down to the root
  • Use in lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas
  • Treats up to 224 sq. ft.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • 1 5 oz. iron chelated (FeHEDTA) concentrate
  • 1 Reusable, easy-fill gallon pouch
  • 1 Powerhouse™ battery-powered wand sprayer

INSTRUCTIONS

For best results, apply between 50-85 degrees F when no rain is expected for 3+ hours

  1. Pour one full bottle of Dandelion Doom concentrate into the reusable pouch and attach the sprayer
  2. Use your outside hose to fill the pouch up to the 1-gallon mark. Secure the cap of the reusable pouch and shake well.
  3. Spray onto weeds in your lawn until leaves are entirely covered
  4. Repeat treatment in 3-4 weeks, or as needed. Store your wand sprayer and pouch for future use

For best results, combine Dandelion Doom with Sunday grass seed. Plant seeds a day after applying, and set the stage for a stronger, weed-resistant lawn.

How does lawn-safe weed killer work?

Grass and weeds absorb iron differently. Weeds quickly take in too much iron, which becomes toxic and kills them. Grass absorbs iron more slowly and can tolerate higher amounts. This difference allows us to target weeds while giving your lawn a healthy, deeper green color.

How to use Dandelion Doom with other Sunday products?

You can apply weed killer, like Dandelion Doom, before or after lawn fertilizer. Allow weed control products to dry completely before applying any other Sunday liquid products or watering your lawn–the longer the plant absorbs the weed control, the more effective the application.

When will I see results?

Fully drenched weeds will dry up in as little as 20 minutes or up to 24 hours, depending on the size and maturity of the plant you are spraying.

What weeds does Dandelion Doom control?

Dandelion Doom is effective on broadleaf weeds like black medic*, broadleaf plantain, bull thistle, Canada thistle*, common chickweed*, creeping buttercup, creeping charlie/ground ivy*, dandelion, dovefoot geranium*, English daisy*, false dandelion, healall*, moss, liverworts*, algae* and lichens*, narrow-leaved plantain*, oxalis, Persian Speedwell, prostrate knotweed*, shepherd’s-purse*, silverweed cinquefoil*, slender speedwell*, white clover, wild chamomile*.

It can also control or suppress diseases such as but not limited to*: Dollar Spot, Rust or Snow Mold.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! As listed in the FAQ section of our product page, Dandelion Doom can cause staining due to high iron content. Avoid using on sidewalks, concrete, or other hard surfaces. If you accidentally spill, immediately spray and dilute the area with water. For best results, apply on calm days to prevent overspray.

Not Impressed

Clover laughs at this stuff. I did not find the product effective in getting rid of any weeds listed.

Hi Ted, we're sorry to hear that your weed control results aren't as expected! Here are some Best Practices to follow for best results. 1.) Try to apply on a sunny day. While not mandatory, sunshine will improve the efficacy and speed of our herbicides. With sunshine unfiltered by clouds, our herbicides will work even better. A rainfall within 3 hours after application can make the herbicides ineffective. Optimal temperatures for application are between 50F to 85F. 2.) Apply when the weeds look healthy. When weeds are stressed or injured, weeds release hormones to recover. These hormones make herbicides less effective. Hormones are also released if weeds are mowed; we recommend not applying on the same day you mow. 3.) Apply the leaves liberally. Our herbicides just need to make contact with the leaves to work; trying to apply to the roots won't be effective. For best results, you want the leaves soaked, but not to the point where the herbicides is dripping off the leaves. 4.) Know the age of the weed. Older and established weeds will likely require more applications. For older weeds, we recommend doing multiple applications on the same day; just let the leaves dry out in-between applications.

I was really hopeful but the weeds are still there and I applied directly to the weed leafs on a Sunny and warm day. I’m going to return the kit I purchas...

What does it kill??

So far, I've yet to find a weed that this will actually kill. I've used it in bright sunlight. I've given it time to let them die. I've used an ample application. But nothing is dying. Did I buy a worthless product?

Not for crabgrass

This product did absolutely nothing for our crabgrass problem. I was hoping to use all Sunday products since they seem to be safer, but I may have to resort to a different herbicide for the crabgrass

Thank you for sharing your experience! Dandelion Doom is an effective weed control option for broadleaf weeds, but it does not address grassy weeds like crabgrass. Crabgrass can be tricky, particularly because it's so biologically similar to turfgrass! Crabgrass germinates in the summer and thrives in even the toughest of conditions, so it's important to treat the issue as soon as you see it! Our non-selective herbicide, Weed Warrior, will be the most effective option when treating crabgrass and other similar growth. Just be careful when using it within your lawn, since it damages healthy grass as well if sprayed directly on it!

Waste of money

ALL of the dandelions I treated came back up within a few weeks. Every one. I spend a lot of money on this stuff. I recommend the Fiskars stand up weeder. WAY more effective and less expensive. If you have a big yard like we do, this stuff just won’t do it. If you have a small yard, and can reapply ...

Killed my lawn

I applied the this yesterday and woke up today to a completely dead lawn. It was heading in the right direction and now it’s a disaster. Is the dandelion spray supposed to kill all of your lawn???
