Your weed killer questions answered
Q: Is this weed killer safe for pets and kids and pollinator friendly, and when can they re-enter the yard?
A: Yes, Sunday weed killers are made without harsh chemicals. Our targeted iron- and soap-based formulas offer a more responsible approach to weed control. People and pets can return once the application is fully dry. To protect pollinators, remove flowering weed heads before spraying.
Q: Will this weed killer harm my grass, or is it selective?
A: Depends which one you grab. Dandelion Doom is selective and won't harm your grass. Weed Warrior is non-selective, meaning it'll take out anything green it touches (including grass), so save those for hardscapes and garden beds.
Q: Which weeds will it control, including crabgrass, dandelions, and clover?
A: Sunday has three weed killers. Weed & Green is a hose-on pre- and post-emergent herbicide that works on crabgrass and broadleaf weeds. Dandelion Doom clears out dandelions, clover, and moss on contact. Weed Warrior clears out any unwanted vegetation, including grasses.
Q: When should I apply, how soon will I see results, and is it rainproof?
A: When weeds are actively growing, ideally 50–85°F on a sunny day. Results can show in as little as 20 minutes for non-selective herbicidal soap formulas, or within hours for iron-based options. Avoid heavy rain for at least 3 hours after application.
Q: What's the difference between pre-emergent and post-emergent weed killers, and which do I need?
A: Pre-emergents stop weeds before they sprout (think spring crabgrass prevention). Post-emergents tackle weeds already growing. Seeing weeds now? Go post-emergent. Planning ahead? Pre-emergent is your move.
Q: How much area does one bottle cover, and how often should I reapply?
A: Hose-on formulas typically cover 1,000–1,500 sq ft. Concentrates cover smaller areas per mix, around 200–250 sq ft. For pre-emergent use, reapply every 3–6 weeks. Post-emergent, reapply every 2-3 or 3–4 weeks, according to the label.
